Hitomi's friends are reading an article in a magazine about a girl calling out some other guy's name while having sex with her boyfriend. They comment on how awful that is and asks Hitomi about it. Hitomi is uncomfortable and thinks back to what she did...after she called out Atsuya's name, Hideaki did nothing. Hitomi apologized, but Hideaki told her not to apologize because it'll just make him feel worse. Hitomi can't figure out why she called out Atsuya's name when, in her mind, she decided to get over him and just love Hideaki from now on.

Hitomi goes by Atsuya's work and thanks him for the birthday present. She also lets him know that she and Hideaki are back together again because Hideaki delivered the divorce papers in front of her. Atsuya acts like he doesn't care. Hitomi begins to wonder what Atsuya would say if she were to tell him that she called out his name while having sex with someone else.

After Atsuya gets off work, Hitomi waits for him and asks him for a ride. Atsuya refuses and gets a taxi for her instead. Hitomi pouts as she is put in the taxi. Atsuya mumbles to himself, "That's not my role anymore".

It's another day and Hideaki calls Hitomi. He wants to meet Hitomi on Tuesday to talk. Hitomi goes to meet him, preparing to get dumped...but instead, Hideaki asks her to go on a trip with him to Karuizawa. Hitomi is suprised and asks if he's sure. Hideaki tells her that he is hurt by what she did, but he was also wrong for keeping his marriage a secret too, so he calls it even. Hitomi starts to cry because of Hideaki's kindness.

The day Hitomi is about to go Karuizawa with Hideaki, she wonders what necklace to wear and decides to wear the one that Atsuya gave her for her birthday since it matches her dress. Hideaki, later on, comments on how cute it is and Hitomi feels a little guilty...

In Karuizawa, Hideaki and Hitomi are drinking and Hideaki starts to kiss Hitomi, but stops in the middle and says that he's sorry and leaves. Hitomi is shocked and realizes that Hideaki is still upset. She wonders if she got bad luck for wearing the necklace that Atsuya gave her. She calls up Atsuya (while he's at work) and blames him for breaking up the relationship with her and Hideaki. Atsuya hears her crying and asks her where she's at. Hitomi tells him that she's in Karuizawa and hangs up because her cell phone battery is about to die. Atsuya tells his boss that he has to take off. His boss gets mad and tells him that he'll be fired if he leaves. Atsuya ignores him and takes off.

Hideaki comes back to the hotel and sees that Hitomi left a note saying that she'll be taking walk and that when she comes back, she wants him to make love to her.

Hitomi goes to Masato's grave and tells him that she's going to love someone else besides Atsuya. She starts to think about how she met Masato as a child and how Masato introduced himself as Atsuya. She tells herself that the real Atsuya is loose, mean, etc....but stops herself when she realizes that Atsuya really cares for her. She thinks of all those times Atsuya helped her out and treated her special. Just then, Atsuya comes out of the bushes and spots Hitomi. Hitomi is suprised to see him. Atsuya tells her that he can't stop thinking about Hitomi no matter what he does. Hitomi realizes that she can't stop her feelings for Atsuya and hugs him. She thanks him for coming all the way out to Karuizawa for her, but Atsuya just tells her it was nothing because it was slow at work and he just felt like driving. Hitomi asks Atsuya to kiss her and they kiss.

The next morning, Hitomi takes the train back home. She broke up with Hideaki and told him sorry, but she just can't get over Atsuya. Hideaki said nothng. Hitomi wishes she didn't have to hurt Hideaki to get her answer.

Another day, Hitomi asks Atsuya to translate a report for her. Atsuya agrees to do it and Hitomi thanks him and tells him that she'll go and pick it up on Friday. Atsuya thinks about it and tells her not to come by his work on Friday and that he'll go to her place and give it to her instead. Hitomi wonders why he's objecting to her going so much, but let's it go. She also lets Atsuya know that she broke up with Hideaki. Atsuya, as usual, acts like he doesn't care.

On Friday, Hitomi goes by Atsuya's work to pick up her report because, after all, she feels bad for him coming all the way to her place after he's tired working. She asks Atsuya's boss for Atsuya, but he's not in yet. Atsuya's boss tells Hitomi that there's a 5-year-anniversary party going on for all the regular customers and asks if Hitomi wants to join too. Hitomi is mad that Atsuya didn't tell her and wonders why. Atsuya's boss also tells Hitomi to tell Atsuya that he's sorry about that Friday about 2 weeks ago for telling Atsuya that he's fired. He only said that because he was mad that Atsuya left all of a sudden on a busy Friday night and in reality, he would be the one sweating because all the customers like Atsuya. Hitomi's heart starts thumping...she thinks back to 2 weeks ago when Atsuya told her that "work was slow" and that he "just felt like driving".

Atsuya gets in to work and sees Hitomi. He scolds her for coming, but Atsuya's boss tells him that he already invited Hitomi to the party. Atsuya is annoyed and tells her to only stay for a little bit and then leave. Hitomi is mad that Atsuya's treating her like a little kid again and has no intention to leave early. At the party, Hitomi is playing a little game with some guys and as the loser, Hitomi has to drink of shot of alcohol. She's about to drink it, but Atsuya gulps it down instead. He tells the guys that he's Hitomi's guardian and to not let her drink strange things. Atsuya scolds Hitomi again and tells her to go home, but Hitomi refuses. Later on in the party, they start playing an auction game called "Hammer Price" and if your number is picked, you have to auction something that's yours, even if you don't want to. Hitomi's number gets called and the auction is for spending the whole night with her! Hitomi does not want to do this, but the auction goes on. All the men want Hitomi and Hitomi starts to get scared. She looks over at Atsuya, but he will not look her way. She feels really bad for not listening to Atsuya. The auction pauses at $1500...it goes once, twice...but then Atsuya bets $3000. His boss tells him that Atsuya will have to pay in cash. Atsuya tells his boss that he'll work for free awhile to pay it off. Some of the customers start complaining that it's not fair, but Atsuya says, "I'll work for free even if it's for $10,000." Hitomi is touched and all the men are stunned.

At the end of the party, Atsuya's boss asks Hitomi to take Atsuya home. Hitomi wonders why and he tells her that Atsuya took that hard-core shot earlier (for Hitomi) and it's dangerously strong. Atsuya refuses, but Hitomi grabs him and takes him home. She puts him to bed and thanks him for all he's done. As she shuts Atsuya's door, Hideaki is there waiting for her. Hideaki tells her that he followed them from the club. All of a sudden, Hideaki forces a kiss on Hitomi. He tells her that he's not going to give up on her, just like she doesn't give up on Atsuya. Hitomi tells Hideaki to stop, but Hideaki warns her that Atsuya will wake up if she shouts. Hitomi doesn't want Atsuya to see, but can't take it anymore, so she starts to bang on Atsuya's door. Atsuya comes out and sees what Hideaki is doing to Hitomi and punches him. Atsuya takes Hitomi in.

Hitomi's heart thumps madly as Atsuya gets some water. She hugs Atsuya and asks him to make love to her. She asks him to look at her as a woman just for this night. Atsuya turns around and tells her that he's always looked at Hitomi as a woman. Atsuya lays Hitomi on the bed and tells her that he won't stop even if she wants to. Hitomi shakes her head and tells him that she would never do that. They make love and Hitomi is overwhelmed with happiness and love.

In the morning, Atsuya is already gone and just leaves her a key. Hitomi laughs, thinking this is so like Atsuya. She wonders why she's so happy when she just made love to a man who doesn't even love her. But she concludes that she doesn't care if her feelings go one way because she will love Atsuya no matter what.

She goes by Atsuya's work to give back his key. She was going to hang out there for a bit, but sees that it's pretty busy. She helps out Atsuya's boss with some drinks and takes it over to some customers, but some guys touch Hitomi's behind. Hitomi jumps and drops all the drinks. The guys who touched her get mad about Hitomi getting their clothes wet. Hitomi has no idea what they are saying since they're speaking in another language. Atsuya walks up and tells the guys that he's sorry and that he'll pay for their dry cleaning. The guys tell Atsuya that they just want Hitomi. Atsuya gets mad and throws the guy against the wall. He says, in another language, "If you touch my girl again, I won't give you any mercy even if you're a customer". Hitomi asks Atsuya why he got so mad, but Atsuya tells her it's nothing. He comments that everytime Hitomi comes, she's always causing trouble. Hitomi laughs and jokes around that Atsuya just can't leave her alone. Atsuya kindly agrees with her and Hitomi is suprised. Then Atsuya asks what Hitomi came for. Hitomi hands him the key and starts to have flashbacks of making love to Atsuya and gets a little embarassed. Atsuya takes the key and tells her that she was cute. Hitomi's heart is racing with happiness. From afar, a woman watches Atsuya.

The next day, the same woman who was watching Atsuya, comes by the club. She tells Atsuya that she wants to talk to him.

Meanwhile, Hitomi's friends ask why Hitomi is smiling so much. In her thoughts, she thinks, I won't ask you to be my lover, but I want to be by your side like this forever. I won't care about whoever you go out with...I'll get jealous, but...as long as you pay attention to me sometimes, I'm fine with that...because...I want to be by Atsuya's side.

The woman offers Atsuya a job as a translator that travels worlwide with a journalist. She tells him that the job/project will go on for at least a year, but there's a possibility that it can be even longer. She says that she needs an answer as soon as possible and that she thinks this is a great opportunity for Atsuya.

Hitomi goes by Hideaki's work and asks him if he wants to eat lunch. Hideaki is suprised to see her and asks her what she wants. Hitomi tells Hideaki that she knows that Hideaki did what he did on purpose so she could hate him. Hideaki denies it at first, but Hitomi points out that he never disrespected her feelings before and there's no way Hideaki would do such a thing for his own intentions. Hideaki gives in and tells her that she's right...but he confesses that there were plenty of times that he thought about disregarding Hitomi's feelings so he could have her all to himself. Hitomi is touched and thinks to herself, You're a nice person til the end. If I didn't have Atsuya, I'm sure I would've loved Hideaki-san...

Hitomi goes by Atsuya's work and sees that Atsuya is talking to a woman at a nearby cafe. Hitomi starts to feel jealous, but tells herself to calm down since this will be happening often and that she can't be by Atsuya's side if she gets jealous. While she's in her deep thoughts, she doesn't realize that Atsuya has already left and the woman comes out of the cafe. The woman notices Hitomi and tells her that Atsuya has agreed to leave Japan for awhile to do the job. Hitomi is shocked and screams NO! inside. She tells herself that the woman was only joking and that she couldn't even imagine Atsuya going so far away.

It's morning and Hitomi couldn't sleep all night. She opens her window and sees that Atsuya is standing outside. She rushes out to him and asks him what he's doing. Atsuya tells her that he's going to be leaving Japan for awhile and tells her about the translating job. He tells her that he'll be leaving next Friday on the 5pm flight. Hitomi desperately wants to tell him not to go, but calmly tells him with a smile, "I was suprised because it's all too sudden, but being a translator is yours and late Masato-kun's dream, right?...At least write me a letter, okay? I'll wait without having high hopes. Bye." Hitomi turns around and sneezes. Atsuya puts a jacket around her and sees that Hitomi's crying. Hitomi runs off and thinks, "If I was his lover... I could've cried and stopped him from going". Atsuya mumbles to himself, If I was her lover, I could've told her to wait for me.

It's the day Atsuya's leaving and Hitomi decides not to go see him off. She stops by Atsuya's work to talk to his boss about Atsuya's memories, but his boss has no clue why Atsuya quit all of a sudden. Hitomi wonders why Atsuya didn't tell him. Just then, Hitomi's phone rings and it's Saki. Saki just found out from Atsuya's school that he was going to be leaving Japan for the translating job. She is suprised to know that Hitomi already knew everything and tells her that Atsuya only told Hitomi because he wanted only her to go see him off. Hitomi can't believe it, but Saki yells at her and tells her to go to the airport to go see Atsuya off.

Hitomi rushes to the airport and finds Atsuya. There's a lot of things Hitomi wanted to say, but she only asks Atsuya to lie and tell her that he likes her. Atsuya tells her that he doesn't want to say it if it's a lie. Hitomi is hurt and then asks him if he ever liked her just even a little. Atsuya kisses Hitomi and gives her a nice, soft smile and tells her, "I love you".

5 years later, Hitomi is working at a company and there are people wanting her to go out on dates. Hitomi refuses every single offer and takes off. She goes by the bookstore to look at the magazine that Atsuya's working for. She confirms that Atsuya is doing well this week too. She goes home to check her messages and tells herself that, again, she has no message from Atsuya. For 5 years, he hasn't written or called her. But she tells herself that it's so like him to do that.

She goes by the magazine's company and asks the woman/Miwa if there's any messages from Atsuya. Miwa feels bad and tells her no...but she gives Hitomi a recent picture of Atsuya and Hitomi starts to cry. She thanks Miwa and leaves. After Hitomi leaves, Miwa gets a phone and she is shocked to hear about something.

Hitomi looks at Atsuya's picture and has flashbacks of memories. Then she remembers that it's almost Masato's death anniversary, so she decides to stop by a travel agency to get a ticket to Karuizawa. When she walks into the agency, the agent is Hideaki! They have lunch together and catch up on what's been going on in their lives. Hideaki tells her that he's going to get married again soon. Hitomi is really happy for him. A waitress bumps into Hitomi's chair and all her things fall out from her purse. Hideaki helps and sees the picture of Atsuya. He assumes that her and Atsuya are doing good and tells her that he's happy for her.

After Hideaki leaves, she sits outside and watches all the couples go by. She thinks about Atsuya...he never told her to wait, but that confession of love to her before he left meant everything to Hitomi and she could wait forever. She starts to cry and says, "I love you too".

Hitomi stops by Masato's grave and forgets to buy flowers, so she goes off for about an hour and comes back.  When she comes back, she sees that there are flowers that weren't there before. Her heart starts to thump and Atsuya hugs Hitomi from behind. Atsuya tells her that he came to pick her up. Hitomi starts to cry with happiness. She looks up at the moon and jokingly tells Atsuya to go chase the moon with her. Atsuya tells her no and Hitomi gets mad, but Atsuya gets serious and tells her that this time, he's going to be the one waiting and that he'll wait for her forever. Hitomi tells him that there's no need to wait and thinks, I don't have to look at the moon and wait anymore. Because see? He's by my side...
