Mucha Kucha Daisuki Vol. 1 by Ako SHIMAKI

Aoi is a country girl and hates the Tokyo life and the Tokyo people. Her father has to transfer to Tokyo for his job and Aoi does NOT want to go. Her friend, Heita, suggests that she go and protest against her father so she will not have to go.

One day, on her way home, she bumps into a guy with dyed, brown hair. Aoi realizes it's a guy from Tokyo, so she tries to run away from him, but ends up tripping and falling down. The guy teases her and tells her that he'll help her if Aoi will give him a kiss. Aoi refuses and the guy asks, "What? You've never kissed before?" Aoi angrily tells him that she kisses all the time (even though she hasn't). Then he goes on to ask if she does the "other thing" a lot too. Aoi is confused at first, but tells him yes. Then she goes on to say, "Even though I'm from the country, I study a lot too!" The guy starts laughing and this makes Aoi even more angry.

Eventually, the guy ends up carrying Aoi to her house and steals a kiss from Aoi. To Aoi's suprise, she instantly falls in love with him and tells him so. The guy is a little embarrassed with Aoi's timidness and is also taken away with Aoi. They introduce each each other and Aoi learns that his name is Tsuyoshi-kun. She decides to go to Tokyo after all.

Aoi arrives in Tokyo and chooses to attend the same school as Tsuyoshi. Tsuyoshi is really happy to see her at first, but gets easily influenced by his friends comments, like, "You really like her?! She's a country girl! Look at her...she's super un-cool"...so Tsuyoshi acts like he doesn't really like her in front of his friends and tells everyone that she's just an acquaintance. Aoi is hurt by this and decides to change into a "young and now gal". Tsuyoshi-kun is worried about what she means by "now and young".

The next day at school, Aoi arrives with the "now and young" look and all the boys are attracted to her and immediately surround her. They ask if she wants to hang out with them after school, but Aoi replies that she's busy after school, "doing it all the time". All the guys are stunned and assume that she's talking about sex. They start to get excited and ask her many questions, but Tsuyoshi grabs her takes her away.

Aoi asks Tsuyoshi what's wrong. She says, "I was just being friendly with everybody". Tsuyoshi scolds her and tells her not to use the word "yarimakuri" (doing it all the time) when she doesn't even know what it means. Aoi is confused and Tsuyoshi gives up, knowing that she has no clue what he is talking about. He says he has a headache and Aoi lays her forehead against his and asks if he's feeling alright. Tsuyoshi touches her hair and asks why she's so troublesome. Then he softens up and tells her that they should go home together. Aoi is very happy. Tsuyoshi goes on to say, "What's gotten into me? Just by touching your hair, my hand starts trembling." Aoi wants to know exactly what he means, but when he's just about to say something more, the other guys come back and take her away from Tsuyoshi. Tsuyoshi is about to chase her and stops when one of the guys asks her if she has a love interest and she tells him that it's the guy that she kissed for the very first time. Tsuyoshi mumbles, "That's not me..."

At the girls' locker room, Aoi is excited that she gets to take a gym class. She is about to open her locker when a bully girl (who likes Tsuyoshi) pushes her and tells Aoi that the locker is hers. She continues with her bullying by taking her towel and throwing it away in the trash can and calling her names. Then she says, "I'll let you know something interesting..."

Aoi gets her shoes and is about to go home. Tsuyoshi notices her and asks her if she's doing alright. She tells him that she has a terrible headache and needs to go home. Tsuyoshi asks her if she wants him to walk her home, but Aoi refuses. In her thoughts, she replays the words that the bully girl had told her, "I'll let you know something interesting. Tsuyoshi always gets tired of girls. He's even said that his hobby is to seduce girls. I'll let you know one of Tsuyoshi's loving words he uses on everybody. First he says, 'I don't want to be apart from you.' If he uses this line on you, you better be careful.'" Just as Aoi's replaying all this in her thoughts, Tsuyoshi tells her, "I don't want to be apart from you." Aoi starts to cry and tells him that that's the one thing she did not want to hear from him. Tsuyoshi does not understand why she is crying and asks her what he could do, but then Heita shows up and asks who's making Aoi cry. Aoi runs into Heita arms.

Part 2

Aoi decides to not go near Tsuyoshi anymore since she learned that he's a playboy.

In the classroom, Heita and Aoi are talking to each other and some of the students make comments about how good they look together. The bully girl makes a comment about how Heita came down from the country to be with Aoi and that they live togehter. Tsuyoshi gets uneasy and yells, "That's none of our business!". His friends are stunned and ask why he's so irritated. He denies that he's irritated and stares longingly at Aoi and Heita. He walks away and mumbles, "Humph. She won't even look this way."

Tsuyoshi skips school and smokes some cigarettes at an old Shinto shrine. He mumbles to himself asking why he's so depressed just because he got rejected by some girl. Then hears a voice yelling, "God! God, are you there?" Tsuyoshi is interested to see who it is and to his suprise, it's Aoi. Aoi wants God to listen to her problems. She goes on to say, "There's someone I like and he's real closeby, but I can't tell him my feelings. What should I do?" Tsuyoshi gets moody and thinks that Aoi is talking about Heita. Without realizing what he's doing, he changes his voice and replies, "Don't pay no attention to that boy." Tsuyoshi realizes what he had just done and thinks he's going to get caught, but Aoi really believes that it's the voice of God! She asks why she shouldn't pay no attention to this guy and Tsuyoshi answers, "Because he'll make you miserable." Aoi asks why and Tsuyoshi tells her that there's a more reliable man near her. Aoi thinks God is talking about Heita and says that she can only think of that person as a friend. Tsuyoshi gets mad and tells Aoi not to be fooled and just dive right into that man's chest...or else she'll get bad luck. Aoi gets scared and says that she will try her hardest to dive into the man's chest. As Aoi runs off, Tsuyoshi mumbles to himself, "I do foolish things like this because I like her so much...why is it him (Heita)?"

At school, Tsuyoshi waits for Aoi to jump into his chest, but Aoi jumps into Heita's chest instead and falls to the floor. Aoi goes back to the shrine and complains to God that she got hurt. Tsuyoshi wonders why she jumped into Heita's arms and decides that it was a mistake for him to tell her to close her eyes. So he gives her another oracle. He tells her that the guy she is destined to be with will show up at 7 pm.

It's almost 7 pm and Aoi nervously waits in her room. There's a knock on her window, and it's Tsuyoshi! Aoi is happy, but Tsuyoshi tells her again, "I don't want to be apart from you". Aoi gets upset and tells him that she doesn't want to hear that because he tells that to all the girls. Tsuyoshi hugs Aoi and tells Aoi that on Sunday, he'll be waiting for her morning 'til midnight at the nearby park. If Aoi doesn't show up, he'll give up on her. Tsuyoshi leaves and Aoi believes that Tsuyoshi is the one she's destined to be with after all, so she will go to the park to meet him.

In school, the bully girl that likes Tsuyoshi if he's free on Sunday. Tsuyoshi tells her that he has plans and looks over at Aoi. The bully girl catches this and tells Heita about it. She tells Heita to force himself on to Aoi before Aoi gets taken away. Heita tells her that there's no way he can do such a thing to Aoi.

On Sunday, it's raining, and Aoi wonders why Heita didn't come home on Saturday. Aoi's about to leave the house, but Heita stumbles in with a high fever. Heita wants Aoi to stay with him, so she does. At the park, Tsuyoshi is waiting in the rain. Hours later, Aoi wakes up and it's almost midnight. She checks on Heita and sees that fever went down, so she gets up to leave, but Heita grabs her and forces himself on top of her. Aoi doesn't show any resistance and Heita asks her why. Aoi tells him that she knows that Heita will not hurt her. Heita tells Aoi that he's serious. Aoi tells him to go ahead then because it still won't change the fact that she loves Tsuyoshi-kun. Heita loosens up and lets Aoi go. Aoi apologizes and leaves. Heita mumbles to himself, "See, I can't hurt Aoi..."

Aoi rushes over to the park and it's already after midnight. She doesn't see Tsuyoshi. She cries and yells, "Why won't you let me meet with Tsuyoshi-kun!? The first time that I've ever kissed someone or liked someone is Tsuyoshi-kun! Tsuyoshi-kun is the one I'm destined to be with, right?" Tsuyoshi comes out from the bushes and hugs her. He tells her that God has stopped time for them. In the grass is Tsuyoshi's watch stopped at midnight.

Part 3

Aoi and Tsuyoshi are in front of the shrine and they thank God for his help. God doesn't respond and Aoi is confused because God usually answers her. She tells Tsuyoshi to shout louder and Tsuyoshi relunctantly does so. Some girl students walk by them and make comments that Tsuyoshi has changed.

Tsuyoshi tries to kiss Aoi. Aoi wants to kiss him too, but gets scared because she feels inexperienced, so she stops him asks him to answer a quiz question: what her favorite thing is. After he gets it right, then he can kiss her. Tsuyoshi wonders and wonders and can't come up with anything.

Tsuyoshi walks by the girls' bathroom at school and overhears some girls talking about him. They say that the Tsuyoshi lately is not cool at all and that Heita is much better. Tsuyoshi panicks and goes to the classroom. He sees Aoi and Heita together and gets a little jealous. He asks Aoi if she wants to catch a movie after school. Aoi is very happy that she gets to go watch a movie with Tsuyoshi. Tsuyoshi asks Heita if he wants to go too, but Heita refuses and then mumbles, "She'll get over you soon anyway."

After school, Aoi and Tsuyoshi are walking and he puts his arm around her. Aoi makes a comment that it's too hot. Tsuyoshi tries to play it off saying that he found a feather on her shoulder. They go to a cafe before going to the movies and Tsuyoshi drinks the coffee with a disgusting look on his face. Aoi asks him why he's drinking it and Tsuyoshi tries to be cool saying that he likes coffee. Then Tsuyoshi tries to light up a cigarette and Aoi tells him to quit. Again, Tsuyoshi tries to be cool and tells her that all teenagers do it nowadays. Aoi gets mad that Tsuyoshi is trying to act like a big shot and leaves. Tsuyoshi calls after her, but she ignores him. Tsuyoshi sits back down and drinks the coffee that is too bitter for him. He puts it down and tells himself that he is, in fact, uncool.

Aoi storms into her house and lays on her bed. She wonders if Tsuyoshi will go back to his normal self tomorrow. Then she wonders if she's the one who's supposed to change. She hears a knock and Tsuyoshi comes in through her window. Aoi is suprised to see him and Tsuyoshi smiles and tells her that he wanted to see her mad face. Aoi sees that Tsuyoshi's back to his normal self again and is happy. Aoi asks Tsuyoshi why he doesn't just come through the front door and Tsuyoshi tells her it's because of "him". Aoi doesn't understand who "him" is, so she repeatedly asks Tsuyoshi as her voice gets louder. Tsuyoshi tells her to keep her voice down as he lightly pushes her onto the bed. Tsuyoshi tells her that he can't stop thinking about her and asks her if it's wrong. Aoi tells him no and they are about to kiss, but Heita walks in. Heita kicks Tsuyoshi out.

The next day after school, Aoi waits for Tsuyoshi-kun and decides that she's going to kiss him today. The bully girl sees her and tells Aoi that Tsuyoshi told her to go ahead and go home since he's going to be late. Aoi is disappointed and goes home with Heita. After they leave, Tsuyoshi comes out and the bully girl tells him that Aoi left with Heita. The bully girl tells Tsuyoshi to watch out since Heita's popular with the girls lately. Tsuyoshi doesn't listen to her, but on his way home, he sees Aoi and Heita walking together. He hides and looks at them longingly, thinking how happy they look together.

The next day at school, Aoi is excited to tell Tsuyoshi about wanting to kiss him, but Tsuyoshi is being really mean to her and won't listen. He tells her that he'll only listen if she confesses. Aoi doesn't know what he's talking about, so Tsuyoshi tells her that it's a crime to walking around the streets with another man other than your boyfriend. Aoi starts to panick and this makes Tsuyoshi even more mad, so he tells her to stop being so naive and to get a little more used to the city. Aoi gets mad and tells him to stop acting like her boyfriend when he can't even answer what her favorite thing is. Aoi storms out calling Tsuyoshi names. Tsuyoshi chases after her and finds her crouched down outside. Tsuyoshi jokes around with her and Aoi gets mad and turns around. Tsuyoshi starts laughing and tells her that he just wanted to see Aoi's mad face again. As Tsuyoshi is laughing, Aoi realizes what her favorite thing is. She kisses him and tells him that her favorite thing is his smile. Tsuyoshi tells her that he'll smile for anytime and they kiss again.
