Part 5

Kayano and Takeru are having dinner with their parents. Their parents are so lovey-dovey with each other that it's making Kayano and Takeru sick. Kayano's mom makes a comment about how happy she is that Kayano and Takeru are getting along so well. Takeru tells Kayano's mom that they get along great and then whispers to Kayano that they get along so great to the point where it's almost scary. Kayano turns pale and can't figure out what Takeru is thinking. Kayano wonders how they could possibly be a happy family. She glances over at Takeru and thinks of how handsome he looks.

At school, Kayano is suprised to see Haru and Kamijou talking with one another and getting along so well. Kayano and Kamijou feel a little uneasy around each other, but Haru brightens it up and slaps Kamijou on the back, telling him to brighten up more. Kamijou screams in pain and Haru tells him that the slap is out of love. Kayano is suprised and Haru later on tells her that she's in love with Kamijou. Haru tells her that she just recently started liking Kamijou, so Kayano shouldn't feel bad at all and to go on with her new love. Even if her and Takeru are going to be future siblings, they're not really related, so it's all good. Kayano is happy and thankful for Haru's friendship. Haru tells her not worship her and says that in return, she's going to take Kamijou. Haru shouts to Kamijou that she loves him and Kamijou falls out of his chair and tells her not to shout things like that. They all laugh together.

Kayano, Haru, and Nachan are walking down the hall and see a bunch of people standing around the bulletin board. They go see what all the excitement is about and find a newsclip with Kayano and Takeru's picture! The article talks about how Takeru and Kayano are going to be siblings soon. Kayano is so shocked to see this and finds out who wrote it. She goes to the classroom where the writer of the article, Moroboshi, is. Rika comes out and asks Kayano what she wants. Kayano is shocked to learn that Moroboshi is the bully girl that's in love with Takeru and pinned up Kayano's love letter! Rika walks up to Kayano and asks her if there's something wrong with the article. Kayano gets scared and mumbles something. Rika tells her that she cannot hear Kayano. Kayano finally gets some words out and tells Rika that there's no need to put up articles like these because it is her private life. Rika tells her that there IS a need to, so that's why she wrote it. Kayano doesn't understand and Rika explains, "You and Takeru are in a position where you can't love each other or go out with one another. I wanted everyone and Takeru-sama to know that. And of course, you too." Kayano starts to panick and wonders if Rika knows that Kayano likes Takeru. Youhei interrupts them and tells Rika that Takeru is calling for her. Rika excuses herself and Kayano is shocked that Takeru called for Rika. She goes to find out what the connection between Rika and Takeru is.

Takeru, annoyed, asks Rika what the purpose of the article is. Rika tells him that it's for his future sister, Kayano. If Takeru's fans don't know that Kayano is going to be his future family, they will continue to bully Kayano, so this helps her out. Kayano is watching them from afar and is mad that Rika is lying when she is the one who bullies Kayano! Kayano asks one of Takeru's friends, Youhei, what the relationship between Rika and Takeru is and she is shocked to find out that they're childhood friends (Youhei adds in that he's childhood friends with them too). Takeru finds Kayano and asks her what she's doing hiding. Kayano is still in shock and can't believe that they're all childhood friends. Takeru asks Kayano to get him some coffee. She looks over at Rika, who is giving her a cold, hard stare. Kayano turns around and tells him that her stomach is hurting. As she leaves, she thinks about what Rika told her and wonders if she can ever tell her feelings to the one she loves!?

Kayano is down and Haru tries to snap her out of it. Kamijou also comes into the classroom down, and Haru asks him what's going on. Kamijou tells her that they got a new manager, but she's too much trouble that he can't handle her and she doesn't do any work. Haru and Kayano go check out who the manager is and it's Rika. Some of Takeru's fans (third-year girls; seniors) are cheering for him and Rika tells the girls to stop and that fans like them bring Takeru's image down. The girls get pissed and they start to argue. Youhei tries to stop Rika, but Rika is mean to Youhei, as usual, and tells him to shut up. Finally, Takeru comes and tells Rika to stop. The girls make some snide remarks towards Rika and Takeru tells them that they're annoying. Kayano's heart thumps and she is a little suprised and hurt that he protected Rika. Haru gets up and takes Kayano down to the court. Kayano wonders what Haru is going to do and she announces that Kayano is going to be the team manager again. There's silence and Kayano panicks. Rika comes up and tells Kayano that she's the manager now. Haru pushes Kayano and tells her to go. Kayano gets scared, but Takeru comes and says that there could be two managers and his terms for joining the team in the first place was for Kayano to be the manager. Kayano is happy that Takeru said these things for her. Kamijou and the other team members agree that it's okay (because they want a manger that will work) and Kayano tells them that she will do a better job this time. Rika glares at Kayano. Kayano is scared and thinks that Rika is going to kill her.

A team member asks Rika to go shopping and clean out the club room. Rika turns around and gives him a cold look. She tells him that the only reason why she became a manager is to support Takeru and that is all. She suggests giving the work to Kayano and Kayano is pissed! She's mad, but she's disappointed in herself for not saying anything back to Rika. After Kayano's done cleaning, she goes back to the court and sees Rika watching Takeru. She's amazed at how much Rika loves Takeru and how long Rika's been feeling this way for him. Takeru asks Kayano for a towel and Rika turns around and glares at Kayano. Kayano gets scared, but thinks of Haru's words, "Be true to your own feelings!", so she ignores Rika's glare and gives Takeru a towel. Takeru is suprised at how nice Kayano is being today.

After practice, Rika pulls Kayano aside and wants to talk to her. Rika asks her if she knows what her circumstances are. Kayano tells her that she knows what Rika is trying to tell her, but that she likes Takeru anyway and that she can't stop Kayano. Rika starts to laugh and tells her that Kayano's only a toy to Takeru and he doesn't like her. Kayano's heart starts to thump and she asks Rika how she knows that. Rika tells Kayano that Takeru has always been on Rika's side and that in the end, Takeru will always choose her. Just then, the third-year girls that were cheering on Takeru before come and force Rika away. Kayano asks the girls what they're doing, but the girls tell Kayano to mind her own business and push her away. Kayano is worried and runs to find someone. She finds Takeru and Youhei and tell them to help Rika. When they get back, they find the third-year girls kicking Rika. Takeru gets really angry, pulls one of the girls' hair and tells the girls to never pull anything like this again or else he will kill them. The girls run off. Kayano is stunned at how angry Takeru is. Kayano thinks of Rika's words, "Takeru-sama has always been on my side. He always chooses me in the end".

Part 6

Rika holds onto Takeru and tells him that she was scared. Takeru scolds her for bringing this onto herself. Kayano's heart is beating and she can't believe how mad Takeru got. Takeru takes her to the nurse's office and tells Youhei to get Rika's things. Kayano starts to wonder what Rika is to Takeru. She calls out Takeru's name, but has nothing to say. Takeru tells her that everything's okay now and to just go home. Kayano is hurt. She feels like she doesn't even know him.

Takeru puts bandages on Rika's foot and tells her that she'll be fine and that it'll heal fine. Rika points out how nice Takeru is to her when she's hurt. Takeru looks through the nurse's desk for a cooling bandaid. Rika tells him that this reminds her of junior high when he always worried about her. She talks about what a rebel he used to be and how everyone was his enemy, but he was always on his side.

Youhei tells Kayano that Rika has always been bullied and Kayano is suprised. Takeru has always helped and rescued Rika. That's why Takeru is a prince to her. Youhei wishes he was strong like Takeru too. Kayano realizes that Youhei is in love with Rika, but Youhei tells her that he doesn't care as long as Rika is happy. Youhei leaves to give Rika her things. Kayano thinks about how much Rika is in love with Takeru for Youhei to give up his feelings for her. Kayano wonders if Takeru likes Rika too.

At home, Kayano is cooking and Takeru just comes into the house.  Kayano freaks out and asks what he's doing at her house. He tells her that he came to eat dinner since his Dad's gone on a business trip. Takeru starts to lay around the house and watch some TV. Kayano brings him some coffee and asks him if Rika is alright. Takeru tells her that Rika's fine. Kayano tells him that she heard that Rika used to always get bullied. Takeru tells her that he gets annoyed when he watches Rika because she doesn't accept any new friends and builds this wall. He adds that it reminds him of his old self. Kayano's heart thumps and thinks, Takeru-kun from before...he was like that before!? I really don't know anything about Takeru-kun...Kayano asks him if that's why Takeru can't leave Rika alone. Takeru smiles and asks if Kayano is jealous. Kayano turns red and yells that she's not jealous. Takeru looks at Kayano's face real close and tells her that he wants a good look of her jealous look. Kayano gets mad and hits Takeru on the head with her tray. Then she tells him that he's stupid and goes up to her room. Kayano's mom comes home and asks what's wrong. Kayano yells that she's not going to have any dinner and slams her door. Kayano is so annoyed that Takeru always makes fun of her and gets her embarassed.

The next day at school, Kayano tells Haru what happened and Haru explains that Takeru is just testing her to see if Kayano likes him. She tells Kayano that they're going to go ask Takeru right now and Kayano panicks and tells Haru not to do that because she's scared to. Then she starts to think of what Rika told her about Kayano being just a toy to Takeru. She couldn't say anything back to Rika because Kayano is afraid that that might be true. Kayano and Haru hear the third-year girls (the ones bullying Rika) laughing in the hallway and Kayano overhears something about them getting money from Rika so they can beat her up. Kayano hears this and stops them and asks them what they mean.

Youhei's going to baskbetball practice and sees Rika and Kayano go into the locker room. Kayano tells Rika that she found out that Rika paid the girls money to bully her. Rika laughs about it and Kayano gets mad and yells at her for being hurting her own body and having Takeru and Youhei worry about her. Rika gets serious and tells her that she'll do anything as long as Takeru will look her way. She doesn't care what happens to her body. Kayano looks at her injured foot and turns pale.

At basketball practice, Kamijou asks where the managers are. Youhei tells him that he saw Rika and Kayano walk into the locker room. Takeru wonders what's going on.

Kayano tells Rika that she's wrong for using Takeru's nice feelings. Rika asks her what she's mad about. She says, "Are you upset because you found out that Takeru doesn't really like you, so you're sweating, right? It was funny seeing the expression on your face when Takeru was taking me to the nurse's office. You didn't know that it was all an act and you desperately called out Takeru's name. You were left all alone and looked like a puppy that was thrown away." Rika starts to laugh and Kayano slaps her. Just then, Takeru and Youhei walk in and Takeru asks what's going on. Youhei sees that Rika is hurt and asks her what happened. Rika tells him that she doesn't know, but Kayano hit her for some reason. Youhei yells at Kayano for being so mean. Kayano tries to defend herself, but the words won't come out of her mouth. Takeru asks Kayano if it's true. Rika grabs Takeru's hand and asks him not to get mad at Kayano because she is fine. Kayano starts crying and asks Takeru why he protects Rika and that because he spoils her, her personality gets more warped. Takeru gets mad and tells her that that's enough. Kayano gets mad and tells Takeru that she is not a toy to him and that she's sick of Takeru always making fun of her and teasing her. Takeru gets upset as well and tells her that he'll never bother her again. Kayano is shocked and runs away. Takeru slams the lockers and Rika hugs him from behind and tells him that she'll always be by Takeru's side.

Kayano runs out in the rain and thinks, The rain hurts. I'm stupid. Somewhere in my mind, I thought he needed me. Kayano tells herself that she probably just wanted to think that way because she likes Takeru now...but she doesn't know anymore...

Part 7

Rika tells Takeru that she will always be by Takeru's side and that she'll do anything for him. Takeru tells her to stop depending on him all the time because she will never be able to go forward. He goes on to tell her that if she's wanting more than a friendship from him, he can't give that to her. Rika turns pale and tells him that she just loves him and that she loves him so much that she'll do anything for him. Takeru tells her that he doesn't want anything from her and this shocks Rika. She is sad for one moment, but then starts to get mad and asks Takeru what he wants to do and what he wants from Kayano.

Kamijou sees Kayano sitting down with her head in her lap and asks her what she's doing. Kayano looks up at him and he sees that she's crying. He asks her if she got into a fight with Takeru because he heard from Haru that Kayano was acting weird. Haru's worried that she pushed Kayano into the whole manager thing. Kamijou tells her that he knows that he has nothing to do with any of this, but he's worried too and that he's a friend. He hands her a towel. Kayano wonders why he's so nice to her when she did such a horrible thing to him. Kayano starts to cry again and thanks him for the towel. Kamijou asks her if she regrets falling for Takeru since he's such an outrageous guy. Kayano's heart thumps and Kamijou laughs. He tells her that even though he's a lot of trouble, he understands why Kayano fell for him because Takeru really cares for people...but that he's also very delicate too.

Rika tells Takeru that he's probably just mad because his "toy" got taken away from him. She goes on to say that Takeru wanted anyone that would listen to anything he would say as long as he didn't have to think about his lonliness. Takeru tells her to shut up. Rika tells him that Kayano is not the mom that left him. Takeru gets really mad and slams the lockers.  He asks Rika what she wants to do now that she's made him mad. Rika turns pale and starts to shake.

Youhei is waiting in the hallway for Takeru and Rika to finish talking. Takeru comes out and Youhei asks him what happened. Takeru tells him to shut up and walks off. Youhei goes into the room to check on Rika and she's sitting down biting her nails. Youhei asks her what happened and Rika starts to cry. Youhei touches her hand and asks her who's making her cry because he's not going to forgive anyone that makes her sad.

Kayano realizes that Kamijou is right. Kamijou tries to joke with Kayano and tells her that she better do good with Takeru since she rejected such a nice guy like himself. Kayano doesn't say anything and Kamijou turns red. He tells her that she has to say something after that and Kayano apologizes. Kayano thanks him for trying to cheer her up and adds that Haru is a very nice girl. Kamijou tells her that he already knows that.   Kayano decides that she's not going to give up so easily and that she hasn't even told Takeru how she feels about him. If she backs out now, she'll lose to Rika's feelings and she does not want to lose. Takeru, from afar, looks at Kayano and Kamijou joking around.

The next day, Kayano decides to tell Takeru that she likes him. She starts walking towards his classroom and she's getting really nervous. Kayano trips over a mop and falls to the ground. She gets up and walks again and reaches Takeru's classroom, but turns around because she lost all her courage from falling down earlier. Right when she turns around, she bumps into Takeru. Kayano starts to apologize for yesterday, but Takeru just walks by her. Kayano asks him to wait, but Takeru tells her that he doesn't want to be flourished by her either and shuts the door. Kayano is shocked and depressed. Takeru goes into his classroom and kicks his desk. His friends wonder who made Takeru mad. Youhei looks up at Takeru with a serious face. Takeru notices this and looks his way, but Youhei looks away. Takeru wonders what's wrong with him, but doesn't say anything. Youhei's hands are shaking.

At basketball practice, Kamijou asks Takeru to go pick up Kayano and give her umbrella since she went shopping for the team and left before it started raining. Takeru coldly tells Kamijou to go himself. Kamijou is annoyed by Takeru's attitude. Youhei volunteers to go pick up Kayano instead. Before Youhei leaves, he looks over at Rika and Rika's heart thumps. She thinks of what Youhei told her, "I won't forgive anyone that makes you sad". She tells herself that Youhei doesn't have the guts to do anything anyway.

Rika flashes back to her conversation with Youhei when Takeru left her in the locker room. Rika is crying and tells Youhei that Kayano is making her upset. Youhei asks if Rika will be happy if Kayano disappears.

Youhei catches up to Kayano and tells her that she needs to disappear so Rika can be happy.

At basketball practice, Rika jumps in front of Takeru and tells him that Kayano is in danger.

Youhei and Kayano are standing in the rain while Youhei is clenching the umbrella (ready to attack Kayano).

Part 8

Rika tells Takeru that Kayano might be in danger because she told Youhei that she wished for Kayano to be gone. Takeru runs out.

Kayano tells Youhei that he's doing a stupid thing, but Youhei tells her that he doesn't care as long as Rika will be happy. Kayano notices Youhei shaking and tells him that he's not the type of person that would hurt someone. Youhei gets mad and tells her that he can. Kayano gives him a cold, stern look and yells to him that he can't. Youhehi is stunned by Kayano's harsh look. Kayano goes on to tell him that this isn't right and that he should just worry about making himself happy instead of others. This makes Youhei even more mad and he tells her to shut up repeatedly. Youhei runs towards Kayano and is about to hit Kayano's head with the umbrella, but Takeru comes in time and blocks the umbrella with his arm. Takeru is mad and pushes Youhei down. Youhei asks Takeru why he won't return Rika's feelings because Takeru is the only one that can make Rika happy. Takeru tells him that he's not going to return someone's feelings out of pity. Youhei gets mad and tells Takeru that he's always "perfect" about everything. Whatever anyone says to him, he always answers them in a calm way. Youhei runs towards Takeru and pushes him down. They start fighting and punching each other. Kayano panicks and pours water on the boys to stop the fighting. They both stop. Takeru gets up and Kayano gets nervous because she just remembers that her and Takeru were in a fight. Takeru puts his arm around Kayano's neck and drags her. As he is dragging her, Takeru yells, "Youhei! If you do something to her next time, I'll hate you!!" Youhei is suprised that Takeru doesn't hate him for what he did already and starts to cry. Rika approaches Youhei.

Takeru stops dragging Kayano and yells at her for pouring water on him in such cold weather. Kayano apologizes and explains that she just didn't want them to fight. After Takeru calms down, he tells her that Kayano saved him. That if she didn't stop him, his friendship with Youhei would've ended there. Kayano hugs Takeru and tells him that everyone loves him.

Rika is attending to Youhei's cuts and bruises and repeatedly calls him stupsid for doing what he did. Youhei tells her stop calling him stupid and Rika tells him that she's stupid too. He tells Youhei that she was afraid of Kayano because she is so strong. Rika starts to cry and Youhei pats her head telling her that she is pretty.

Takeru asks Kayano who "everybody" is and jokes around with Kayano trying to get her say that she loves him too. Kayano gets embarassed and raises her hand, saying that she loves him too. Takeru busts out laughing and Kayano is even more embarassed and starts to leave, but Takeru smiles at her softly and tells her not to get mad and that he's most happy with her loving him.
