Part 1

Kayano and Takeru make love at the hotel. Kayano wakes up in the morning and tries to reach for her clothes without getting out of bed, but can't reach them. Takeru wakes up and asks what she's doing. Kayano starts to panick because she wanted to change before Takeru woke up. She slides off the bed with the blanket covered over her and lands on teh floor. She turns around to look at Takeru and he's staring at her. Kayano asks him if he could turn around for a second so she can change, but Takeru gives her a hard time and tells her that he already saw everything last night anyway. Kayano gets really emabarassed and Takeru starts laughing. Kayano tells him to stop, but he starts to laugh again. Kayano thinks to herself that she loves this guy so much.

Takeru gets Kayano a drink at McDonald's. He asks her if she called her mom and Kayano freaks out because she forgot to call her. Kayano meets with Haru and Nachan at a restaraunt/cafe and Kayano asks if Haru could lie and just say that Kayano stayed over at her place. Haru is shocked and announces, in a loud voice, that Kayano is an adult now.

After things calm down a little, the girls talk about Takeru deciding to go to Italy with his Mom. Nachan asks how long Takeru will be staying in Italy and Kayano tells her that she doesn't know, but it'll probably take a long time since Takeru and his mom are trying to rekindle their mother/son relationship. Haru asks if Kayano is going to be okay with it since she doesn't even know when he's coming back and Kayano is the one who's going to go through the lonliness. Kayano smiles and tells her that it's okay because she believes in Takeru. Haru and Nachan look at Kayano with amazement and are happy for her. Kayano thinks about what Takeru told her before, "I will probably love you forever".

At school, Kayano's teacher asks if she's decided to change her first choice of school, but Kayano tells him that she isn't going to change it. The teacher gives her dumb-founded look and Kayano repeats herself again. The teacher tries to reason with her, but Kayano tells him that she's not going to give up easily. She tells herself that she's just going to do what she can for herself right now.

Kayano is sitting at the table with her Mom and her mom tries to make eye contact with her, but Kayano tries to dodge her looks. Kayano bumps into the refrigerator and her mom tells her that Kayano's been ignoring her ever since that day she didn't come home. Kayano turns around with her fake smile and asks what she's talking about. Her mom gives her a sly look and tells her that she's not an old lady yet, meaning she knows what happened. Kayano turns pale and thinks, She knows! Just then, Takeru comes running into the kitchen and asks where his dad is. Kayano's mom tells him that his dad is taking a bath and asks Takeru what's wrong. Takeru slams down his dad's pictures and runs off to the bathroom screaming to his dad not to put things in his luggage. Takeru's dad tells him that Takeru is going to need those pictures when he misses his dad. Takeru has no comeback. Kayano and her mom are giggling and tell Takeru to take the pictures for his dad and that he might really miss him anyway. Takeru looks at Kayano's smiling face and shyly asks for Kayano' s picture too. Kayano is suprised and looks up at him with her cheeks a little red. Kayano thinks: I hope that whenever Takeru-kun comes back, we can welcome him with the same smiles and warmth.

Everyone goes to see Takeru off at the airport. Takeru's rowdy friends make a big scene and announce that Takeru is leaving and wish him good luck on his journey. Haru is embarassed by their scene. The airport announces that Takeru's flight is leaving and Takeru's mom tells him that it is time to go. Takeru's grandma and dad tell him to take care and to call. Takeru's grandma also tells Takeru's mom to take care of herself as well and she and Yuzuru are suprised. Takeru's mom bows (to thank her). Kamijou is about to say his good-byes to Takeru, but Haru and Nachan pull him aside so Kayano can say her farewell to Takeru. Takeru tells Kayano to take care of herself and Kayano smiles and tells him to take care of himself too. Takeru hugs Kayano and tells her that he'll be back some day to get her. As Takeru walks away, Kayano yells, "Takeru-kun! I love you more than anyone else in this world!" Takeru gives her a big smile.

5 years later...Kayano was able to finish the college of her first choice and now works at a nursery school. Takeru ended up going to college in Italy and on his breaks, he comes to visit Japan. Half of Kayano's paychecks always go to long-distance phone calls.

Kayano gets home and sees that her pictures are ripped up. She runs down to the kitchen and asks where Hikaru is. She sees Hikaru hiding under the table and Hikaru runs away from her. Kayano chases after him outside. Hikaru bumps into Takeru and he lifts Hikaru up and asks if Hikaru did something bad again. Kayano is suprised to see Takeru since he wasn't supposed to come back until next month. Takeru tells her that he wanted to hurry up and see her. Kayano runs towards Takeru and hugs him. She is smiling with tears of happiness. She runs into the house to tell her mom that Takeru is back. Kayano thinks, There are happy days awaiting!

EPILOGUE

At Takeru and Kayano's wedding, Takeru's grandma is looking for Hikaru. Takeru lifts up the tablecloth and finds Hikaru hiding under a table. Hikaru looks up at Takeru with a mean look and thinks, I hate you.

~PAST~

Hikaru is playing in the sand with one of his friends, Mika, and tells her that his sister is going to get married. Mika tells him that that's great and she wishes she could get married soon. Hikaru gets defensive and tells her that it's not great at all because Takeru is a no-good bum and always making his sister cry. Hikaru thinks that Kayano, his sister, is being tricked.

At home, Hikaru bites Takeru's arm. Takeru tells him that it hurts and Kayano tells Hikaru to stop. Kayano's mom and Takeru's dad are laughing and make a comment on how much Hikaru loves his brother. Takeru gets mad and tells them this situation doesn't seem like Hikaru likes him at all! Kayano tells Hikaru to apologize, so Hikaru saracastically says that he's sorry and makes a face at him. Hikaru thinks, He's not my brother! Hikaru cannot believe that his sister is going to marry this bad guy, Takeru and makes points about him: His eyes look bad (he has a girlish face), he has messy hair, his chest is open, he calls Dad "old man", and when he comes over, he's always laying around the house (he have never seen him work). And on top of that, Hikaru thinks that Takeru tries to seperate him from his sister.

Hikaru is holding onto Kayano while she's watching TV. Takeru tells Hikaru to get off of Kayano because he's holding on too tight. Takeru starts to pull Hikaru off and Hikaru grabs on to Kayano. Kayano tells Hikaru to stop because he's pulling on her shirt.

Hikaru and Kayano are taking a bath together and Hikaru tells Kayano that he hates Takeru. Kayano pleads with him to get along with Takeru and she would be happy if Hikaru congratulated her before she got married. Hikaru thinks about it, but gets mad and calls Kayano a fool. He gets out of the bath and splashes some water into Kayano's face. Hikaru can't believe his sister when she was just crying not too long ago and saying that she's not going to get married after all. Hikaru tells his mom about it and tells her that Takeru is a bad guy because he has never seen his sister cry until Takeru came back. His mom is a little suprised with Hikaru's protection for Kayano and tells him that Kayano only does that to get some attention from Takeru. She tells him not to worry and that Kayano is happy. Hikaru doesn't understand and tells himself that he's never going to be tricked by Takeru!

Takeru gives Hikaru a present, a robot, and tells him that Kayano is sad that him and Hikaru can't get along, so maybe they can make up with this present. Hikaru throws down the robot and breaks it. Kayano gets mad and tells him to apologize. Hikaru won't apologize and Kayano gets even more angry. Takeru tells her that it's okay, but Kayano insists that Hikaru apologizes.

Hikaru gets mad for always taking Takeru's side and pulls on Kayano's wedding dress. He accidentally rips it and turns pale. Takeru comes in and sees that Hikaru ripped Kayano's wedding dress. Hikaru is scared that his sister will find out and will never talk to him. Takeru tells Hikaru that he'll fix it without Kayano knowing. Hikaru brightens up and is happy that Takeru will do that for him. But, Takeru asks Hikaru a favor in exchange for that.

~PRESENT~

Takeru asks Hikaru, who's under the table, what that promise was. Hikaru tells him that the promise was to be nice to his brother for one day and congratulate his sister. Takeru gets Hikaru out from under the table and puts him over his shoulder. Hikaru thinks, He's the devil after all! If I congratulate her, that means I accepted this guy! Takeru tells Hikaru that even though his sister is getting married, her feelings will not change for Hikaru. Takeru looks at Hikaru and asks, Don't you want to see your sister's happy expression!? You can do it, right?" Hikaru looks at him with amazement and this about it. He decides to make his sister happy and goes into the room where she is getting ready for the wedding. When he walks in, he is stunned to see a beautiful woman in a wedding dress and tells Takeru that there's someone here that he doesn't know. Takeru calls him silly and tells him that that's his sister. Haru is helping Kayano with her dress and Takeru's grandma and Kayano's mom comment on how beautiful Kayano looks. Kayano's mom can't believe that Kayano is so grown up and wishes Kayano happiness. Kayano is about to cry, but Haru tells her not to cry yet because her make-up will be ruined. As they are laughing, Hikaru runs up to Kayano, gives her a bouquet of flowers and congratulates her. Kayano is so happy that she gives Hikaru a big smile and tears of happiness come out. Hikaru is suprised and starts to remember that he's seen that same smile/expression before. He remembers that she smiled the same way with those tears of happiness when Takeru came back. He remembers being happy because his sister was so happy too. Kayano thanks him and hugs him.

Kayano and Takeru exchage their vows and get married. Hikaru thinks about what his mom told him, "Don't worry. Kayano is happy". He thinks, Maybe I'll try to say "congratulations" to her again. This time I won't do it for an exchange, but really mean it! That doesn't mean I accepted that guy, tho!

Later on, Hikaru talks to Haru and finds out that Haru is the one who fixed the dress. She tells him that Takeru asked her to fix the dress without Kayano or her mom finding out and that it was a lot of trouble. Hikaru is suprised that Takeru kept his promise. Kamijou tells Hikaru that he's such a lucky boy because Takeru's building them a big house. Hikaru is shocked to learn that Takeru is a guy that builds houses and not some bum.

Takeru's grandma announces to everyone that it's time for pictures. Hikaru sits between Kayano and Takeru and gives Takeru a sly look. He thinks, But just for today...I can get along with you.

The shutter goes off and the picture is taken.
