A 60 s liberal in
the 21 Century is..
anachronistic..
So:
This page does not deal with the 60s as history, but as style, a
frame of mind which sought racial and gender equity (“I have a Dream”),
respected individual freedoms, and sought creativity rather than conformity (“I’d
rather be a forest than a street”).. and
distrusted the Government’s involvement in the affairs of other
countries. It was also the period of free love. These issues will be the
concern of this page.
Now, I believe that we are living in a new 50s.. which
was the ultra conservative era. So, as it will recede, a new 60s will resurge.
Rather than nostalgia, this page celebrates the dawn of that new era..
First, some articles about love:

The encounter with death is one of the saddest episodes in a love experience. The Funeral of Shelley by Edward Trelansy describes the death of the Great Romantic Poet, who died holding Keats’ poems in his arms. Article includes segments from Mary Shelley’s Autobiography describing the tragedy, segments from Leigh Hunt’s writing about it, and of course, the wild reaction of Byron to this untimely tragedy..
Love mythologies:
The story of Narcissus as
narrated by Julia Kristeva in Tales of love.

A discussion of some Freudian defenses:
